Definition: The self conscious middle aged man at the pick up basketball game is attempting to relive his high school glory days by exerting way too much effort for the given situation. As you play at half speed trying not to get injured, or injure any of the pre-pubescent kids also playing, he’s playing like it’s game 7 of a Lakers versus Celtics NBA championship series. As much as you would like to turn on your A game, you know it’s not worth it and by dropping this line, you immediately bring this man back to reality and avoid having to cross him over, score on him, and embarrass him in front of his new girlfriend who is videotaping him on the court per his request.
