The practice of dropping the right movie quote to perfectly describe a real world scenario has been around for decades. The response for those of us with the biggest library of classic "muzings" at their disposal can range from a nod of respect to outright applause in the right social situation. We've asked some of the best in the business to contribute to The Muzing Dictionary, to create the world's deepest well of classic movie lines, with the definitions of their proper use. Feel free to borrow liberally from this site when needed, and to add any you feel are missing.
On board with Steve Zissou

Talk about a ship that has every conceivable amenity locked down to near-perfection. Sure, Goldblum’s yacht and research sea-lab are arguably better as it concerns the technology involved, but the Belafonte is the one that gets the screen-time in “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.”
Among other things, the Belafonte has a sauna, massage tables, helicopter [...]

The Chocolate Factory Riverboat

What is nearly equally memorable as the boat in this scene is the creepy song Willy Wonka’s singing just off key.   The ship truly makes the moment though, with both a canopy and a Mississippi River-style steamboat paddle engine, yet by all indications it’s powered solely by the Oompa Loompas at the rear.
Wonka’s boat is [...]

The greatest boats we’ve seen

A couple weeks back, the new Navy assault ship USS New York, built with World Trade Center steel, arrived in its namesake city with a 21-gun salute near the site of the 2001 terrorist attack.
First responders, families of Sept. 11 victims and the public gathered at a waterfront viewing area, where they could see the [...]

Vegas Baby, VEGAS!!!!

With the chaos and sleep deprivation from Vegas a week behind now, my head has cleared enough to reflect a bit and ponder the classics Sin City has provided us on the silver screen. With a handful of the Muze team heading back up for another tradeshow next week, and an untimely bachelor party [...]

Movie Sound Tracks… We Just Cant Escape it!

We just can’t escape it…
Leave it to team Muze to turn an amazing dinner into a heated debate over what else?… the big screen. Somehow the conversation shifted from how phenomenal the sushi was and rate the drinks were evaporating to… is Top Gun (considered one of the best movie soundtracks of all time) [...]

All of you kids from the neighborhood should be carrying his groceries… outta respect!

You think movies, you think this man. One of the most heralded of his time, Martin Scorsese’s been making classics for nearly four decades. He developed his passion for film at an early age, when his father often took him to the movie theaters around New York City. After serious considerations of entering [...]

“Can I please have your attention. I need all of you, to stop what you're doing and listen. Cannonball!”…

It was indeed quite the weekend for Muze, but with a Friday night fashion show usually comes a Saturday filled with the couch and remote. With no morning games of any serious interest my friend and I opted for an attempt to laugh away our headaches with a Will Ferrell classic, Talladega Nights, because after [...]

"If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything" – Marty McFly

Well, today is the big day and I hope everyone got out, or gets out, to vote. Regardless of the outcome, it’s pretty clear Washington needs a shake up as our country could certainly use a new direction.
I’m half tempted to just throw in a movie when I get home to avoid the torture of [...]

It is Voting Season… What's Your Vote?

With the Presidential election now just a day away and the 24-hour media cycle inundating us with round the clock coverage maybe its time to take a break from the political ticker and venture to the lighter side of politics. While some political movies certainly focus upon serious historical topics, some offer the lighter version [...]

28 YEARS Later…

I’m sure for you Phillies fans it was well worth the wait. Sure Philadelphia is famous for the signing of the Declaration of Independence and home of the world famous Liberty Bell, but admit it, when you think of Philadelphia, you think of Rocky on the steps of Museum of Art.
Just like Rocky said, “all [...]

I Love a Good Car Chase….

Car chases have been a part of film for decades, but the first chase is generally considered to be 1968’s Bullitt, which was not only much longer and faster than its predecessors, but also provided the viewing audience with the experience of being behind the wheel. Since this time movies have offered us no [...]

Movies & Sports, certainly two of life’s greatest pleasures…

So you’re a huge movie buff with possibly the only near comparison being your passion of sports. So what’s better than combining the two? They may not take home any awards, but athletes making cameos on the big screen over the years have provided no shortage of laughs. While they may come [...]

Happy Birthday to a controversial movie icon…

Oliver Stone, who turns 61 today, is not only a Hollywood icon, but legendary filmmaker and master of controversial topics. With a focus on screen adaptations of political and cultural events, the portrayals have often resulted in strong criticism.
Taught by Martin Scorsese at New York University’s Film School, Stone’s credentials include film director, producer, [...]
